Great Healthy Soup (Moringa)

One of the typical Filipino Food is Soup with moringa. Moringa as I mentioned in my previous article would give you great benefits for your body health. In fact, it contains vitamin C seven times than oranges, four times the calcium in milk, four times the vitamin A in carrots, two times the protein in milk, and three times the potassium in banana. Aside from those vitamins and minerals that you can get from moringa, it also gives you effective benefits to some health concerns. You will not eat directly the malunggay or moringa, you have to cook it to taste. Usually, in the Philippines we cook it with fish, some spices, with little water would give you a very tasty soup. I will show you a picture of moringa with milk fish below.

These are the ingredients of the moringa with fish soup. In the Philippines we call it “Tinola’ng Isda with Malunggay”.

Tinola’ng Isda with Malunggay (moringa)
(For 1 Serving Tinola)

25 grams Moringa (Malunggay)
50 grams Fish
1 small sized onion
1 medium sized tomato
1/2 thumbed sized ginger
1 medium spring onion
1 small sized bell pepper
2 cups of water
salt to taste

Directions:

Boil water then add fish, onion, tomato, ginger, pepper for about 5 to 8 minutes. Once boil, let the fish cook with the boiled water, then add moringa. Do not let moringa stay long with the boiling water so as not to overcook the leaves. Transfer to the serving bowl and serve hot. Enjoy the best soup you will ever taste.
